Students

Collaborating Across Borders II:  Building Bridges Between Interprofessional Education and Practice (CAB II) offers a number of opportunities for students to participate and become involved:

Healthcare Student Team Challenge

3:00 - 5:00, Thursday, May 21  Tradewinds Room

Teams of four healthcare students will be assembled to compete against each other in a student challenge.  This event will be structured as a hodge-podge of various game shows utilizing questions based on a stroke case.  There will be multiple-choice and short answer questions that will require team members to work together to provide the best care to the "patient."  A panel of judges will be available for limited guidance, and members of the audience will be encouraged to particpate by using "clickers."  The purpose of this event is to engage students to work together in interprofessional teams.  Prizes will be awarded to the top two teams; however the overall theme is one of fun and cooperation.  All conference attendees are encouraged to come and join this interactive education event.

Student Social Evening

Following the opening reception, student delegates are welcome to join the steering committee student representatives at the Henry House for a few drinks and some nachos (a beginning round of food and drink will be provided by the committee).  We plan to take this opportunity to get to know one another better and recruit students to participate in the healthcare student team challenge.  The Henry House is located a stone's throw away from the hotel, and you will be escorted from the reception at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic to the Henry House.

Volunteer Opportunities

There are a number of volunteer opportunities open to students.  In exchange for donating five hours of your time, you will be admitted to the conference at no charge.

For further information on volunteering, or any other student activities, please contact Kristina Bradley.
